The flagship ECU Health Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and ECU Health Maynard Childrens Hospital serve as the primary teaching hospitals for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary
The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring internal communications strategies, processes, plans and content for the health system. As a member of the Internal Communications team, the Internal Communications Specialist supports and collaborates with cross-functional leaders and departments to engage, inspire, celebrate and inform team members, and is an advocate for bringing the team member voice and perspective into the work we do. The emphasis of this role is to provide proactive communications counsel and tactical support for teams within Human Resources, Well-being, Office of Experience and Inclusion and Belonging as well as oversight of the internal communication's mobile platform, The Current. In collaboration with Internal Communications manager, oversee the day-to-day management of The Current, ensuring it is user-friendly, informative and aligned with organizational and department goals. Partner with Internal Communications team to regularly update and maintain The Current's strategy, content, structure and features to ensure it remains fresh, relevant and engaging. Collaborate with other Shared Services functions (e.g. IS) to address technology issues, identify improvements within the platform's environment and opportunities for enhanced synchronization with health system's key platforms. Analyze data and metrics to track engagement, identify trends and recommend improvements or new ideas. Prepare regular metrics reports and present findings to leadership and key stakeholder. Serve as the The Current's day-to-day point of contact as well as train, onboard and lead recurring check-ins for content creators/publishers/administrators. Provide proactive communications counsel and tactical support for teams within Human Resources, Well-being, Office of Experience and Inclusion & Belonging. Develop communications strategies that advance and elevate ECU Health's people-centered resources, initiatives, offerings, policies and programs.
