The Postdoctoral Research Associate, under general supervision, works with a multidisciplinary team on clinical studies to develop aging in place technologies and to develop digital twin algorithms to assist clinicians in developing treatment plans for patients with chronic diseases. Analyzes complex sensor data, works with a multidisciplinary team to develop health digital twins and communicates data in the form of primary research articles, aides in grant writing, supervises graduate and undergraduate students and performs routine research duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Appropriate PhD in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with machine learning and deep neural network techniques.
  • Experience with wearable and sensors placed in the environment.
  • Knowledge of characteristics associated with mild cognitive impairment capturable with digital interfaces.
  • Experience with agentic large language models
  • Experience in artificial intelligence to develop the algorithms for digital twins
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques
  • Experience in cleaning and analyzing healthcare data

Responsibilities
  • Research and Data Analysis: Under general supervision conducts research into their field of expertise. Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of data. Engages with research participants. Works with study coordinator, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, graduate, undergraduate, and medical students. Develops and evaluates artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for sensor data. Analysis of digital pen data.
  • Manuscript and Grant Proposal Writing: Performs literature searches. Writes first drafts of manuscripts and revise based upon feedback. Assists with writing grant proposals.
  • Mentoring: May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on research related to the project.
  • Presentations: Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups. Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors. Analyzes data using artificial intelligence techniques. Develops user-interface design.
