Role Synopsis:

Take charge of all mechanical changeovers, encompassing tasks such as line configurations, mold and trim tool changes, guide bar alterations, pick adjustments, and control system calibrations. You'll troubleshoot machine issues, ensuring consistent production quality at optimal rates. Additionally, support preventative maintenance schedules, including scheduled rebuilds of machinery components, to ensure efficiency and reliability. Flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime and on-call duties, is a prerequisite.

Core Responsibilities:

• Execute both major and minor changeovers efficiently.
• Overhaul and maintain tooling; assemble, disassemble, and repair as necessary.
• Conduct mold changes, facilitating disconnection, removal, installation, and setup for production readiness.
• Manage tooling storage and readiness.
• Champion initiatives to reduce changeover downtime.
• Oversee the maintenance of tool cleaning systems, ensuring all components are functional.
• Uphold mold preventative maintenance schedules and conduct regular inspections.
• Document and archive mold histories.
• Operate with precision measurement and setup tools.
• Propose upgrades to minimize downtime.
• Engage in routine mold cleaning and setup operations.
• Facilitate training for associates to maintain setup integrity.
• Operate autonomously, with a focus on achieving operational improvements.
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Engage in specifying and procuring spare parts.
• Support process technician duties as needed.
• Perform additional duties as delegated.

Capabilities and Expertise:

• Machinist background in precision manufacturing environments preferred.
• Proficiency with computer software for data management.
• Expertise in handling tight-tolerance fabrication and settings.
• Proficient with computerized machine interfaces.
• Organized and adept problem solver capable of multitasking.
• Excellent communicator across organizational levels.
• Independent operator, capable of initiating tasks without direct instructions.
• Committed to regularly enhancing processes and outcomes.
• Team orientation required.
• Versatile knowledge in hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, or general maintenance.
• Valued experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing.
• Crane, forklift, and heavy molds handling experience advantageous.

Academic and Background Necessities:

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is essential.
