Partner with development engineering teams to evaluate various mass production process technologies, equipment designs, and suppliers by engaging with display component and module suppliers on proprietary processes such as die-cutting, electronic substrate bonding, and flex bending. Identify and select the best methods for mass production by evaluating factors such as cost, efficiency, yield and scalability. Review supplier's design, process flow, equipment selection, Design for Manufacture (DFM), and Design of Experiment (DOE) proposals to ensure they meet quality standards. Plan validation exercises to demonstrate initial and mass production feasibility using prototype builds and corner-case testing. Perform risk assessments, identify mitigations and corrective actions to ensure design compliance to pre-defined specifications utilizing tools like Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Work with engineering teams, operations teams, equipment vendors and system integrators to ensure that quality and reliability expectations are defined and communicated clearly. Assess supplier production readiness to support build and production ramp activities, such as process modifications, enhanced quality control measures, or the implementation of new processes to improve display module manufacturing quality. Lead roll-out of equipment, material, and process across the Apple supply chain. Optimize engineering processes and equipment for yield, quality, reliability, throughput, and ramp the new equipment and process into full mass production by continuous improvement initiatives, performance monitoring, and ongoing coordination with cross-functional teams. International travel required 30%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 - $184,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Learn more about Apple Benefits: Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field. + Experience and/or education must include: + Assessing design choices' impact on manufacturing processes, yield, efficiency, and production costs by applying Design for Manufacturing principles such as material selection, tolerance considerations, design for cost, and design for sustainability. + Performing Machine Design and Automation to create automated manufacturing systems and reduce costs and operator headcount. + Conducting Root Cause Analysis to identify underlying issues leading to defects using methods such as fishbone diagrams and implement solutions to prevent recurrence and improve overall product quality. + Conducting on-site process audits at display and sub-component vendors to identify critical risks, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. + Leading new EQ installation qualification, process qualification for mass production and driving FA (failure analysis) and CA (corrective actions) for failures in product performance during NPI and MP. + Leading new equipment installation qualification and process qualification for mass production. + Presenting line qualification, mass production results, and reports to the management and cross-functional teams. **Preferred Qualifications** + N/A Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
