The Role

As an Account Executive at HCE, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our current district energy systems as well working with the team to contract new business throughout the Hamilton region. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and developing strategies to expand our market presence. Your role will involve prospecting, account management, market research, strategic planning, and collaboration with various teams to ensure alignment with our organizational goals. You will also act as a key representative of HCE in negotiations and public and private sector engagements, advocating for our projects and ensuring their successful implementation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and contract new clients for HCE's district energy systems, focusing on new markets and growth areas.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, including commercial, residential, municipal, and institutional district energy clients.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business development strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and technical departments, to align strategies and achieve business objectives.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the utilities, telecom, energy, or urban planning sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value business deals and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of integrated energy strategies, sustainable development, and urban planning principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A strong network of industry contacts and established working relationships.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, sales, urban planning, or a similar management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business development strategies.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal regulations related to utilities and development.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
